Congressman Tony Gonzales was first elected to represent Texas’s 23rd district in 2020 after a distinguished military career.
A career cryptologist in the Navy, Gonzales rose to the highest enlisted rank of Master Chief Petty Officer for work in support of combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan that required numerous deployments to the Middle East and Asia. Gonzales also served on Capitol Hill as a Department of Defense Legislative Fellow for U.S. Senator Marco Rubio and was a National Security Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.
As a Congressman, Tony Gonzales has been an indispensable ally to Jewish Americans and a key supporter of strengthening the U.S.-Israel alliance. He is a co-chair of the Latino Jewish Caucus, and, as a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee, he’s played an important role in ensuring that critical funds for Israeli missile defense and other areas of cooperation are provided.
