He has led the charge on Holocaust restitution, most recently introducing the bipartisan Holocaust Expropriated Art Recovery (HEAR) Act, which expands on Cornyn’s 2016 legislation of the same name, to end the sunset date in the original bill and strengthen existing procedural protections to ensure that Holocaust victims’ claims are not dismissed due to non-merit-based factors such as time constraints.
