Congressman Rich McCormick is a decorated veteran and Emergency Room physician who proudly serves Georgia’s 6th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives.
Elected in 2022, he currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.
He is a member of the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee, the Cyber Information, Technologies, and Innovation Subcommittee, the Middle East North Africa, and Central Asia Subcommittee, the Global Health Human Rights, and International Organizations Subcommittee, the Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee, and the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.
During his two decades of service, Congressman McCormick deployed to combat zones in Africa, the Persian Gulf, and Afghanistan. As a Marine, he flew helicopters, was Airborne and attached to Army and foreign forces, and taught at Georgia Tech and Morehouse College as the Marine Officer Instructor. In the Navy, Congressman McCormick earned the rank of Commander and served as Department Head for the Emergency Medicine Department in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
